There are many options when it comes to window toppers. There are swags, which are swathes of fabric that hang across the top of a window, there are valances, which are short curtains that hang from the top of a window, and that’s just scratching the surface.

For many homeowners, the window toppers that are available for purchase in stores (or by ordering online) simply aren’t right. They aren’t unique enough or they don’t match the décor inside their homes. It’s not uncommon to try to make your own custom window toppers, but it’s not always easy. Before you embark on such a mission, do your research online. Compare several patterns and make sure that you have all the tools that you will need. Making lambrequins isn’t exactly as easy as sewing a new pair of drapes.
