A swag valance is a type of window dressing that is made of a swathe of fabric that hangs across the top of a window (it might be more accurate to say that it is draped over the top brackets), with tails that hang down on both sides of the window.
Dressing up your windows with swags is an easy way to make your home’s interior look elegant. Because of this, swags are extremely popular right now (and have been for a few years). They may not serve much of a practical function, but they can provide the finishing touch that a room needs to truly look great. Couldn’t your home use a little bit of extra flair?
Swags come in a variety of styles, from Victorian to ulta-modern. They can be made out of patterned fabric, but solid colors often look best. You can purchase your swags online, at a store or even make your own swags. If you’re handy, you can install them yourself. If you’re planning on getting new windows, it’s smart to install your new window treatments at the same time.
