Kitchen Faucets

Kitchen faucets are distinguished by their handles and spouts. Two-handled kitchen faucets are the most common, but more and more kitchen sinks are being fitted with single-based faucets that control both hot and cold temperatures. Single-handle faucets have a center-set lever (think car stick-shift) above the spout that is turned to the left or right to adjust hot and cold temperatures. A newer and more expensive innovation is the kitchen faucet with hot and cold valves and spouts all mounted separately. Kitchen faucets with pull-out sprayers incorporated right into the spout are also popular. Kitchen faucets are typically made of metal, solid brass, Zink alloy or metal with plastic coatings. Solid brass is the most expensive and durable. Kitchen faucet finishes are available in chrome, brass, pewter or nickel, ceramic and even sterling silver to coordinate with your kitchen's design. A basic Zink alloy kitchen faucet starts at approximately $55 online.
