Water Valves
Wherever you find running water in your bathroom you’ll also find water valves. Water valves control the flow of water into your bathroom fixtures including the sinks, bathtubs and toilets. The water valve for the toilet is located at the back of the base of the toilet. This valve is important because it allows you to shutoff the water supply to the toilet incase of an overflow. Under the bathroom sink you’ll also find a set of water valves - one that controls the hot water supply and one for the cold water. Your shower and bathtub will also have hot and cold water valves but these are usually concealed during the assembly of the tub. During any form of bathroom renovation you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the functioning of water valves. Water valves can be purchased from a plumbing supplies manufacturer. One relatively new type of valve is called a tempering valve -These can be installed in your bathtub or bathroom sink and they reduce the temperature of the water delivered through the taps. This will prevent young children from getting scalded by hot water - The perfect addition to a family bathroom.
