It is believed that the ancient Egyptians invented plumbing some time around 2500 BC and people have been developing and improving on it ever since. Plumbing involves water flow and piping systems for drainage, sewage, and sanitation along with everyday things such as drinking and washing. We seem to take water and plumbing for granted as there are still areas in the world that don't have modern day or indoor plumbing. Many plumbing accessories are basically maintenance free. If they do break down we usually just call a plumber or go down to the local hardware store to buy the parts necessary to fix them ourselves. When dealing with plumbing items though, make sure you know what you are doing. An inexperienced plumber may end up paying a lot more to have the problem repaired.
