Bidets
Bidets used to be considered luxury items but now they are slowly reaching their way into our homes. If you’ve ever traveled through Europe then you’ve probably had experience using this unit. A bidet is a sit-down basin that is used to gently cleanse your most personal area after using the toilet, or for “freshening up”. With water and paper conservation as their main purpose, bidets are very easy to use - Simply straddle the bowl facing the faucet so that you can control the temperature, direction and pressure of the water spray. Water enters the bowl through one of three options: a vertical spray from the center of the bowl, a spout that delivers water horizontally or an integral filler system. The soft streams of water provided by the bidet allows for gentle cleansing. Some units also have built-in air jets for convenient drying after cleansing. Bidets are relatively simple to install and cost upwards of $400. Most manufacturers offer bidets in complementary styles of their toilets for a coordinating look. Many new toilets can even be purchased with bidet functionality for added convenience - The water spray is used for cleansing rather than toilet paper. Water cleansing bidet-style toilet seats can also be purchased and easily installed onto your home toilets.
